2026–2027 ScholarRx Call for Innovation Grant Applications

ScholarRx is pleased to announce a new call for grant applications through the Medical Education Research and Innovation Challenge (MERIC), a program designed to advance educational scholarship and innovation in the health professions.

MERIC supports U.S. and international investigators interested in collaborating with ScholarRx to study educational innovations using the ScholarRx platform. Projects may address a wide range of questions in health professions education, including educational methods and pedagogy, curriculum development, assessment, learning technologies, and emerging approaches to teaching and learning.

ScholarRx expects to fund approximately 2–3 projects through this call. Typical awards range from $2,500 to $5,000, with highly qualified proposals—including multi-institutional studies—eligible for awards of up to $10,000.

Application Process and Key Dates

The MERIC application process begins with a brief Letter of Intent (LOI). Selected investigators will then be invited to submit a full proposal.

December 11, 2026: Letter of Intent due
January 22, 2027: Notification of invitation to submit a full proposal
March 19, 2027: Full grant proposal due
April 30, 2027: Award notifications
